کنگره جهانی روش‌های جایگزین آزمایشات حیوانی + عکس

حکیم مهر -  هشتمین کنگره جهانی جاگزین‌های آزمایش روی حیوانات و استفاده از حیوانات در پیشرفت علوم از 21 تا 25 آگوست سال 2011 میلادی همزمان با سال جهانی دامپزشکی برگزار می‌گردد.

در این کنگره محور مباحث بر رایزنی دانشمندان علوم مختلف زیستی با یکدیگر بر سر استفاده از روشهای جایگزین آزمایشات حیواناتی استوار خواهد بود.

مسئولان برگزاری کنگره انتظار دارند بیش از هزار نفر از محققان دولتی ، دانشگاهی و صنعتی و نیز متخصصین و نمایندگان سازمان‌ها و تشکل‌های مختلف مربوط به حقوق و رفاه حیوانات از بیش از 50 کشور برای شرکت در این کنگره به مونترال کانادا و هتل ملکه الیزابت – محل برگزاری کنگره – بروند تا اطلاعات علمی و تجربی خود را در این زمینه به اشتراک بگذارند.

عمده محورهای این کنگره بر مباحث زیر متمرکز خواهد بود :

Theme I - Safety Testing, Validation and Risk Assessment

• International developments in the Three Rs and regulatory testing
• Alternative method development, including pharmaceuticals and biologics
• Translation of data from high throughput tests to risk assessment

Theme II - Public Policy, Alternatives and Animal Ethics

• Public participation in animal policy decision making
• Understanding the term "alternatives"
• Conflicts between the Three Rs

Theme III - Incorporation of the Three Rs in Education and Training

• How science is written and published
• Linking new science (genomics, computational approaches) to alternatives
• Evaluating the pedagogical merit of animal use

Theme IV - Animal welfare and Refinement

• Linking the Three Rs to animal welfare
• Farm animal welfare and the Three Rs
• Wildlife welfare and the Three Rs

Theme V - Replacement and Reduction in Basic research

• Identifying emerging sciences and their potential for breakthroughs in replacement in biomedical research
• Systems biology as the future approach to understanding human (and animal) diseases
